Biography:
Without The Handsome Beasts, Heavy Metal Records wouldn't exist! Impressed by The Handsome Beasts, HMR Managing Director, Paul Birch tried to get them a record deal approaching numerous major labels to ask if they were interested in signing the band. They weren't, and so Heavy Metal Records was born!
Sadly, Beasts frontman Garry passed away in 2005 (RIP) and the band were unsure about what to do, but remembered that just 18 months earlier that Garry had said whilst watching Simon Hall (Frontman of Beholder) "When I peg it, that's the guy you want." The band approached Simon initially to ask if he would fill in for some shows held in Garry's memory and decided that Garry was right and Simon was the guy that they wanted, and so Simon was asked to join The Handsome Beasts on a permanent basis. Simon stayed with the band until 2007 and in December 2007 The Handsome Beasts recruited none other than Rocky Shades (of Wrathchild) to take over vocal duties for the band. The band have since undergone more line-up changes but are well and truly back in full force!
