Band Biography:
Cited by the likes of Sepultura, Neurosis and Deviated Instinct and many others as the original masters of the blending of Metal, Punk and Rock, Crust Punk pioneers Amebix formed in 1978.
Amebix released their second studio album, the monsterours 'Monolith' on Heavy Metal Records in 1987 but release and distribution difficulties ended with the band eventually splitting. The band did tour briefly after 'Monolith' ending in Sarejavo.
Following a long hiatus, working on various other projects Amebix returned to the scene in 2008/2009 with several sold out gigs in America (the first ever Amebix gigs on American soil) the band went on to complete a 2nd U.S/Canadian Tour alongside European appearences. A brand new album titled 'Sonic Mass' was released in 2011 on Easy Action Records which featured in the Top 10 Albums of the year in various Metal Webzines, magazines and lists of fellow Metal Musicians - Most notably Corey Taylor (Slipnot and Stone Sour) and Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy). The album also made the Top 20 albums of the year in Metal Hammer Magazine coming it at Number 14.
